Whether you’re in high school, college like me, or even a teacher going back for another school year, getting things together for another year is TOUGH!
Here’s my top 5 list of ways to get back into the swing of things for school... plus me showing you my school bag must haves!
1. Set your alarm earlier:
This semester, I had no choice but to schedule a 7:30 chemistry class.
Let me repeat that... A 7:30 CHEMISTRY CLASS!
What is wrong with me?! School starts on the 21st of August, so once the 1st comes around my alarm will be moved from 8:00 am to 6:30am.
UGH. I'm tired already!
2. Get Organized
For me this was getting a nice planner that I could write down EVERYTHING. I needed a monthly view and a daily view to I can cleanly display work schedules, upcoming tests, what to study for that night, and homework. Also be sure to have all school supplies ready such as notebooks, pens, paper clips etc..
3. Write down all your class information:
Along the lines of getting organized, being sure to know exactly what class is at what time will help for your first day back. This way you aren’t walking around campus like a lost puppy because you forgot the building and room # your class is in. If you get an academic planner like i did, it will more than likely have a section at the beginning where you can write down your class time, place, and teacher. I highly recommend an academic planner for this reason.
4. Look at class materials before the first day
I know what you’re thinking... “This girl is crazy if she thinks I’m going to study before school starts”. But I promise you that it will be worth it! You don’t even have to necessarily "study" the info, as long as you briefly look over a few chapters it will help a bunch!
For instance, I know this year in my Human Anatomy class we will be studying the heart first, therefore I will skim over the information of the heart in our texts books to refresh my brain and get it in the groove of studying again!
